Dear Participants at the AFRAM zonal assembly,

Greetings from Lomé, Togo.

 

As you are preparing to come to Lomé, please keep in mind the following TWO things:

 

1. It is very likely that both at the Lomé Airport, and at the AFLAO border (for those coming via Accra), the health department officers ask you to show your International Vaccination Card (Yellow card). If you already have one, keep it updated and ready; if you don't, may be it's good to think of getting one for yourself. Having it with you next to your passport on arrival will avoid unnecessary conversations with those officials!

 

2. If you are planning to obtain the Togo visa on arrival (at the airport and/or at the Aflao border), please know that you will get the visa only for SEVEN days. But if your return date from Lomé is beyond that period, which I presume is very likely, we will get the visa extended during the week of the assembly, without any extra fees, for a month or so. This extension requires, however, FOUR (4) passport size photographs of the person, preferably in colour in white/sober background. If you have them already with you, please bring along extra pictures/photos; otherwise, of course, we can also find photo studios here on your arrival.

 

I am still waiting to hear from some provinces prior to processing the "invitation letters", which I will send you by email, so that you can carry along a print out of the same with you to produce on arrival at the airport/border.

J'espère que vous vous portez bien...

 

SVP, gardez les DEUX choses importantes à l'esprit comme vous vous préparez pour le voyage vers Lomé:

 

1. Il est très probable que l'on vous demande à l'arrivée à l'aéroport comme à la frontière venant d'Accra pour la carte internationale de vaccication (carte dite jaune). Si vous l'avez déjà, tant mieux; sinon, vous avez encore assez de temps pour le faire faire chez vous.

 

2. Pour ceux qui vont chercher le visa à l'arrivée à Lomé, sachez que vous l'aurez seulement pour SEPT jours. Ce qui veut dire que nous devrons/pourrons le faire prolonger pour, disons, un mois, pendant l'assemblée. Cela ne coûte rien de plus comme argent, mais on demande QUATRE (4) photos d'identité de plus, photos en couleur avec fond clair. Donc amenez avec vous quelques photos de plus, svp.

 

J'attends encore de nouvelles de quelques provinces, avant de pouvoir vous envoyer la lettre d'invitation. Je vous l'enverrai par email, ainsi vous pouvez l'imprimer et apporter avec vous une copie au cas de nécessité à l'arrivée pour l'obtention du visa.
