In about three weeks time, all
of you will have arrived in Lomé for the next AFRAM zonal assembly.
Please know that ALL of you are most WELCOME.
Several weeks prior to
Christmas, I had written a common message, giving you sufficient details
with regard to your arrival in Lomé: the airline connections, visa
procedures, possibility of coming in via Accra etc. Many of you have
responded, but as it is of no surprise in similar enterprises, I am yet
to hear from some provinces, thanks.
Please do give me (am requesting
this EVEN to those who already wrote me, but have not given the details)
precise answers to the following, I pray:
1. The date and time of your
arrival in Lomé (if by flight to Lomé and/or via Accra)
2. The date and time of your
departure from Lomé (if by flight fromLomé and/or via Accra)
(Please do understand me if I
insist on these as of now: the assembly itself, as you know, is to be
held at the diocesan centre, which is about 10 km from the provincial
house, and we will move out to that place only on Sunday February 7th
afternoon. And we will leave from there on Saturday, possibly in the
morning, depending on the end of the assembly.
Understandably we do not have
too many rooms to accommodate confreres in the provincial house itself
if some came before the 7th. This is also true for those who would like
to stay for a few days after the assembly. We have reserved rooms in
couple of nearby places, but they all require precise info from us, in
terms of number of rooms, number of days etc.
So please give me your kind
response as early as you can. How about doing it right away, yes, today
itself? I thank you for this.
A THIRD precise information I
would like to have from all of you, please:
I had suggested two
possibilities of visiting the TOG province, both Togo and Benin, soon
after the assembly, if you had time and interest to do the same.
According to the draft programme, the THURSDAY (Feb 11th) of the
assembly week will be a day of outing for ALL of us together to sight-see
Lomé and Kpalimé (about 100 km from Lomé).
Those two possibilities, once
again, are:
1. A trip from Lomé to north
Togo, from there to north Benin (obtaining the visa at the border) and
return to Lomé, via Cotonou: this will require THREE nights outside Lomé
- so in all FOUR days. We will leave Lomé on Saturday the 13th, will
return to Lomé Tuesday, the 16th evening. Would any of you like to make
this trip? There should be at least 4 (four) persons to make this trip a
worthwhile one.
2. A trip from Lome to Cotonou (obtaining
the visa at the border) to see the historic Ouidah city, the Ganvier
village-on-the-lake, etc, with an overnight stay in Cotonou, the
commercial capital of Benin. We will leave on Saturday the 13th, come
back on Sunday the 14th evening. There should be at least 4 (four)
persons to make this trip an interesting one.
Please do sign up latest by
January 20th (next Wednesday), so that we can confirm places for
overnight stays, especially. If I don't hear from you by then on these
points, I will presume you are not going on any of these trips.

quelques semaines déjà à Lomé! Je vous souhaite la bienvenue dès
maintenant.
Ayez la bonté de me donner la
réponse précise à deux questions suivantes:
1. La date et l'heure de votre
arrivée à Lomé (par avion ou via Accra?)
2. La date et l'heure de votre
départ de Lomé (par avion ou via Accra?)
Même certains parmi ceux qui
m'ont écris n'ont pas encore bien précisé ces détails, donc écrivez moi
encore, svp. Je voudrais avoir ces infos précises pour la question de
chambres que nous avons réservées dans des lieux autour de la maison
provinciale, parceque si certains arrivaient avant le 7 février, on n'a
pas assez de chambres chez nous seuls! Nous irons vers le lieu de
l'assemblée seulement le dimanche 7 février dans l'après midi, et
quitterons ce lieu le samedi 13 fév, donc vous voyez l'urgence de votre
réponse pour nous faciliter la tâche. merci.
Une troisième question:
3. Nous vous proposons deux
sorties tout de suite après l'assemblée pour visiter la province TOG
(Togo et Bénin). Notez bien que le jeudi 11février, nous sortirons tous
ensemble en bus pour visiter Lomé et Kpalimé à qlqs 100 km de Lomé.
A part cela, donc:
a) nous quitterons Lomé le
samedi 13 fév pour le nord du Togo, de là vers le nord du Bénin
(obtenant le visa à la frontière), puis retour à Lomé via Cotonou au sud
du Bénin. Cette sortie prendra QUATRE jours en tout (avec TROIS nuits
hors de Lomé; donc le retour à Lomé le soir du mardi 16 février. Il
faudrait avoir au moins 4 personnes pour effectuer ce voyager pour que
ça soit intéressant.
b) une sortie vers la ville
historique de Ouidah au Bénin, avec visite en pirogue sur Ganvier,
village lacustre, en passant la nuit à Cotonou. Départ de Lomé le samedi
13 fév, retour à Lomé le lendemain dimanche 14 fév le soir. Au moins 4
personnes pour que le voyage soit intéressant.
Je voudrais avoir votre réponse
le plutôt possible. Si possible, répondez moi tout de suite. Au plus
tard d'ici le mercredi 20 janvier prochain. Si je n'entends pas de vous
par rapport à cela, je présumerais que vous ne vous y intéressez pas.
J'insiste à vite avoir la réponse, surtout pour la question de faire
réserver les chambres pour passer la nuit, vous me comprenez, on ne peut
plus attendre.
