MALAMULELE (BOT): Biblical Formation
At St. Benedict Catholic Church, the biggest challenge in the biblical formation project is how to translate the Bible into Tsonga, the local language in Malamulele and Giyani. There is no Bible in Tsonga available at the moment. Verbum Bible in Kinshaha and the South African Bible Society have been contacted to explore the possibility of a new translation. Fr. Jean Chrysostome KIYALA reports that in the parish, basic Bible seminars have been conducted in three communities/outstations. There were 69 participants and 58 of them completed the full seminar by attending all 5 evening sessions.

October 19, 2008 marks a history in Maasailand, Tanzania as His Grace, Rt. Rev. Josaphat Louis Lebulu, Archbishop of Arusha Catholic Archdiocese, inaugurated and blessed the new parish church of Simanjiro-Emboreet, the SVDs first Maasai Parish in the Catholic Archdiocese. Thousands of Maasai parishioners with their red dresses and artistic attires attended the event. Their very lively and melodious songs made the occasion very much alive and beautiful. Indeed a day to remember. The church is named The Good Shepherd Church. (Eusebio Manangbao) |
